Explosive Egg Hunt Action

Last spring Mimi was still a bit young for an Easter Egg Hunt (she wasn't interested in eggs or walking), so this year was our first time at the full production: Easter dress, hats, eggs, jelly beans, and mayhem.  We started off at home with an Easter dress, pink sweater, and knit cap.  Mimi seemed to approve, though she refused to stand up for any pictures.  We took tons, but she insisted on sitting in each one.  Odd child.
Around 1:00 we headed out to Pleasant to join the egg hunt.  Grandma and Grandpa would meet us there, as well as many of Mimi's cousins.  We were about ten minutes late, but that didn't stop Mimi from reaching her full quota of eggs...and eating all of the jelly beans contained therein.
Easter eggs secured, it was time to meet the kind fellow who brought them - the Easter Bunny.  Lucey, who'd been a bit apprehensive about Santa in the past, was wary when it came to the large rabbit, but braved it out.
Even Haruki, all of six months old, did a great job.
Yes, all the little ones loved the Easter Bunny.  Well, everyone except Mimi.  Rather than cuddling with the giant anthropomorphic rabbit, she decided to cower in her mother's arms at a safe distance of 20 yards or so.
The terrors of the great white rabbit over, we all headed outside to enjoy the unseasonably warm spring day.  The lawn made a perfect gathering spot.
Mimi reluctantly posed for a picture with her Papa...
but readily jumped into a photo with her Mama, and cousins Nana and Lilly.  That's not fair.
After the egg hunt we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's where, along with hamburgers, hot dogs, and cake, we had another egg hunt.  Mimi's an expert now.
After the egg hunt Grandma presented Mimi with a new hat, which made her look quite the young lady.  If it weren't for the tennis ball, she'd be a natural fit for the Kentucky Derby.  Hmmm.  On second thought, maybe she's preparing for a seat in the royal box at Wimbledon.
Our day didn't end at Grandma and Grandpa's, though.  Hats in hand, we headed over to Kae and Ed's to celebrate Nana's birthday.  We had a great time except for one very unfortunate incident.  I learned that an adult should never leave himself alone in a room filled with little girls and packs of Easter stickers.
I didn't find the last sticker until 10:30 last night.  I suppose it's the price us stay-at-home dads must pay to keep our little girls happy.  A bit humbling, and a bit painful when the little girls yank of the stickers with their nails, but overall well worth it.
